SF, Santa Clara counties expected to move to Orange COVID-19 reopening tires – NBC Bay Area

San Francisco and Santa Clara counties will soon move up to the next California counties orange reopening level, more simple restrictions for more businesses.

The orange level change is expected to take effect as early as Wednesday.

“San Francisco’s health indicators continue to improve with the incidence of COVID-19 and hospital admissions,” the San Francisco COVID Command Center said in a statement.

Officials at the Covid Command Center warned residents that while the decline in coronavirus cases is encouraging, the variables are worrisome.

“San Francisco continues to take health precautions as it reopens. We are aligning with state guidelines as much as possible but will add special security to reduce the risk of spreading the virus. Our approach continues to focus on expanding outdoor activities. The statement said it is possible as a safer environment than home.

Meanwhile, a Santa Clara County spokesman told NBC Bay Area on Sunday that his county posted the orange level number last week and if the number stays in that range until Tuesday, the county will move to the orange level on Wednesday.

At the orange level, offices can maintain up to 25% capacity for individual work schedules and 25% capacity in conference and meeting rooms.

Other new rules include museums, zoos and aquariums up to 0% indoors, movie theaters can be reopened by 50% or less than 200 people capacity and shopping centers can be expanded to 50% capacity.

When the move occurs, San Francisco and Santa Clara will join San Mateo as the second and third two area counties to go to the orange level.

All the other two area counties are currently in red tires.
