Severe hurricane warning issued for Dallas-Fort Worth, note of severe damage after a tornado in Tarrant County

The tornado caused severe damage in parts of Trent County on Saturday, the Trent County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

The department said the tornado knocked down several power lines and trees in the town of Briar in the northern part of the county. Property in the area was badly damaged, but there were no serious injuries or deaths, the department said in a tweet.

The National Weather Service issued a severe hurricane warning for parts of North Texas late last night.

The warning covered parts of Dallas and Tarrant County, including the cities of Dallas, Fort Worth and Arlington, and was in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday.
