BREAKING: ‘Several’ police officers are shot in Texas after gunman opens fire and then barricades him in a house

Texas police say “multiple” officers were injured in a shooting at Cedar Park, 20 miles outside of downtown Austin.
Officers are urging residents to avoid the area of Baghdad Road, just south of Leander High School, due to the ongoing situation.
“We are at the scene of a shooting where several Cedar Park police officers were shot while responding to a call at a home outside Natalie Cove,” police tweeted.

A Fox News reporter said there were at least three ambulances on the scene, in addition to multiple SWAT units.
Cedar Park is home to about 80,000 people.
Caleb Record told Fox News that he first thought the emergency services were responding to a COVID case as a heart attack, seeing it intensely here.
‘About three, four, five cop cars pass by; SWAT occurs; everyone just zooms by.
“So I turn around and try to see what happens.”
Witnesses told KVUE that they heard multiple gunshots and that there is a large presence of legislation.
Local residents are asked to stay in their homes.
“This is a fluid situation and we will keep you informed as new information comes in,” the police tweeted.
Locals are being asked to shelter until the situation is brought under control
