The 17-year-old worker was “aggressively stabbed by both a woman and a man,” on Sunday at Sesame Place in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, according to Lieutenant Stephen Forman of Middletown Township Police. The park is located just 26 miles outside of Philadelphia.
The theme park opened in late July with a mask policy in place that mandates face masks to be worn in all public spaces. Failure to comply with the park’s policy will prohibit guests from staying in or staying in the park, their website says.
Police did not identify the attackers as information about the park employee was released. They are working “with Sesame, restoring all their video and reservation forms, because people now have to buy the tickets in advance. We could get tentative IDs,” Forman told WPVI.
After the employee punched, both guests left, along with their party, according to WPVI. It is unclear if they were asked to leave or leave on their own account.
“The health and safety of our guests and team members is our top priority, and violence of any kind is unacceptable and intolerable in our park,” Sesame Place spokeswoman Dana Ryan said in a statement to CNN. “We have been in close communication with the family of our injured team member and hope for a speedy and speedy recovery.”
The toe had to undergo surgery for injuries to his jaw and teeth, according to the WPVI.
