The heat continues in Denver as the Labor Day weekend heatwave may break more records on Sunday, but the winter is on its way back abruptly.
The National Weather Service (NWS) said Denver set a new monthly and daily record high of 101 degrees Fahrenheit on Saturday as the Colorado capital could see more record heat on Sunday.
But a polar plunge is on the way.
Summer nice in parts of Wyoming, in the ‘freezing’ regions between Montana
The NWSA said Sunday morning that winter storm clocks in most parts of Colorado’s front range are now in effect for about 2.3 million.
Winter will arrive early as a stronger system from the north will bring colder temperatures as well as ice accumulation in the region, the NWSA said.
The cold front passing through the area on Monday night will set the scene for the snow to begin shortly after midnight in the highlands and foothills.
“It’s a big cold Tuesday,” said Rick Reichmouth, chief meteorologist at Fox News on “Fox and Friends Weekend.”
“[In] Denver has the effects of winter storm clocks you have, “Richmuth said Sunday. So you go to the winter storm clock from about 100 degrees today, still in the summer. “
By Tuesday morning, snow levels will have dropped as possible snow accumulates on the front range, the Interstate 25 corridor and the Metro Denver area.
The Denver metro area is expected to receive up to 6 inches of snow, with elevations up to 14 inches.
“Snow branches falling on a full-leafed tree can break or damage other trees,” the NWSA said. “Roadways over wide area can be slippery and slippery.”

Scattered power disruptions in the scattered area will be exacerbated by temperatures falling below freezing by Tuesday night, which could also damage crops and plants.
Forecasters also warned that a “sudden change” from 100 degree heat to ice would have a “significant impact” on outdoor animals.
Heavy snow and record-breaking cold temperatures on Tuesday night, the NWSA said.
According to Fox 31, the last measurable snowfall in the Denver area was in September 2000.
The system will be out by Wednesday with the end of the snowfall and as the situation improves.
The latest arrival of snow comes a week after last week’s steady rains in parts of Wyoming and Montana.
