While the Surface and Momentum TW 2 headphones are great wireless headphones at their core, they don’t have much in common. In fact, they are aimed at two very different types of listeners. The Momentum TW 2 are for those who want the best sound in the more portable package, regardless of cost. Surface Earbuds are more geared towards the average Joe and those who want to take advantage of Microsoft’s suite of software and hardware.

However, there are a couple of similarities, namely in terms of battery life. Both sets of headphones will serve you well. The Momentum TW 2 will last you seven hours before recharging, while the Earbuds Surface will give you one more hour. In terms of extra juice from your charging case, you’ll get an additional 21 and 16 hours respectively. Both are charged via USB-C, which is always welcome. Neither of them offers a wireless charging case, which is a pain, especially for its price points.

In terms of comfort, any outfit will do. Both are super comfortable, even after long periods of use. They both come with various sizes of ear tips in the box, so chances are good that you will find something that fits you flawlessly.

Also, if you want ANC, over-the-ear headphones will be a better choice as they tend to block more noise.

The buds themselves don’t last as long as the surface earbuds, but their overall battery life is much better despite having ANC.
