Selena Gomez discovers rare beauty is 100% vegan and cruelty free


With so many celebrities and influencers debuting on beauty lines, it’s exciting to hear that one of our favorites, Selena Gomez, is launching a makeup market, Rare Beauty, that is completely vegan and cruelty free.

For makeup to look vegan and cruelty free, it may not contain animal products, such as beeswax or gelatin, which are often found in non-vegan beauty products. It is also not tested on animals in the laboratory, which makes it cruelty free. Rare Beauty is in line with Gomez’s values ​​and loves who you are

Gomez, who has spoken openly in the past about her mental health and body image struggle, wants the clean makeup market to be inclusive in every possible way. She shared a bit about the brand on Rare Beauty’s Instagram, saying, “@rarebeauty is about accepting who you are – and finding the beauty in your perfections.”

Rare Beauty has a bigger mission than making people feel beautiful, but rather good for yourself: “I wanted to start a conversation about how you can make yourself feel great. It’s not necessarily about these things needed to make yourself feel good. People “of my generation have all this pressure to look a certain way, and I wanted to create a line that took a bit of that pressure. I use real people in the campaigns,” Gomez told Amy Schumer when the two this past spring spoke for Interview Magazine.

Gomez does not just want her products to be restricted to women. Speaking on the importance of gender inclusion in the Rare Beauty line, she said: “I want girls and boys and men and women to feel comfortable. It’s meant to be enjoyed, it’s very special. We’re not meant to be like everyone else, we have to look like ourselves. ”

Rare Beauty has been super secretive about the exact products that will launch in September, limiting their social media activity to posting teaser videos and images on Instagram. The makeup brand is set to include 48 shades of foundation, in line with its mission to match every skin color. A range of around 50 foundation shades became the industry standard after Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty line introduced what could be the most inclusive range of face makeup, back in 2017. The line is also expected to launch concealers, lipsticks and eye shadow with many more products to be released in the future.
