The SoCal lake where Naya Rivera was found dead after drowning is reopened to the public, but her tragedy has affected operations there.
TMZ’s learned Lake Piru opened Thursday, 43 days after the “Glee” star came out for a day of boating and swimming with her son. The man-made reservoir had been off-limit since Naya disappeared. After authorities recovered her body, the lake remained closed when the COVID-19 pandemic intensified in LA County.

Now that the public can return, there are restrictions. For starters, swimming is absolutely forbidden. Lake officials say that is thanks to COVID-19, but locals tell us they believe the ban really works Naya’s drowned. When they disappeared, many populations were critical, as there have been 8 previous drownings since 1994.
As we reported … more than 12,000 people have signed a petition require more effective warnings to swimmers over pun below the surface of the water.

Then there’s this … the pontoon that Naya rented the night she disappeared was taken out of the float and placed in storage.
Remember … locals had reason to be concerned. The drowning of Naya is the 9th death at Piru Lake since 1994.
