The house used to belong to Charlie Sheen and underwent massive one-year renovations.
Kendall Jenner is the last star to open her home to Architectural Digest for the September issue of the publication.
“This is the first house I have ever done entirely, and I think it is a genuine reflection of who I am and what I like,” said Kendall. “In the end, I’m still a young woman in Los Angeles, just trying to have a little fun.”
Jenner bought the house, which previously belonged to Charlie Sheen, in 2017. After she bought it, the house underwent a year of renovations. As part of the remodel, it converted one of its five rooms into an equipment room or glamor room. It also doubled the size of the shower in the main bathroom and raised the ceilings in the room. The space also houses what she calls a giant “golden tub”, which is actually made of brass.
The “hardest thing to put” during the renovation, according to one of the boys who worked in the house, was the solid stone, the 300-pound sink in the formal living room vanity.
The house is also filled with touches inspired by famous members of her family, including a wall of magazine covers with her own face in the glamor room, something Kim Kardashian did first and “copied everything.”
“Kylie and I were very fortunate to receive guidance from our older sisters and a mother who really has her shit,” she said as she spoke of her kitchen, which uses more than she bargained for. “Everyone gave me solid advice on how to set up my kitchen and bathroom for maximum efficiency.”
Right next to the entrance, there is also a giant, glossy wall sculpture by James Turrell, an artist who learned from his brother-in-law Kanye West (in the photo on top)
“Kanye introduced me to his work and collaborates with him,” says Jenner. “I wanted this piece to be a focal point of the house, and I am very excited to have it here.”
Jenner turned her movie theater into an art studio, where she paints to help relieve stress, calling it a “form of therapy.” It also has a huge closet that purges every other month, a bar next to the living room, and an amazing outside space with a pool and barbecue.
“My life involves a lot of chaos, travel and a lot of energy, so I wanted a house that felt serene, a place where I could just unplug and relax,” Jenner said. “I am not a big party person. There are not many rabid people here. I like to put on music, light the fireplace and candles, and watch NBA games with my friends.”
