Nvidia unveiled its latest FTors RTX 3080 graphics card earlier this week, and now the company will take a closer look at its 4K gaming performance. In a new gameplay video, Nvidia demonstrated Doom Eternal Run both RTX 3080 and 2080T simultaneously. The results show that the RTX 3080 beats the 2080 tie at 50 percent in fps, and averages around 120fps around 4K with maximum settings enabled.
Nvidia promises that the performance base on the RTX 3080 will double the RTX 2080, and it’s impressive to see the obvious benefits like the 4K title Doom Eternal. Nvidia’s RTX 2080 TA introduced solid frame rates for 4K gaming two years ago, and the RTX 3080 looks like it could deliver the performance performance needed for 4K gaming at 144 Hz in modern AAA titles.
If Nvidia’s RTX 3080 could deliver this 50 percent performance bump across the board, it would do so at about 50 percent less cost. Nvidia launched its RTX 2080 Tin at $ 1,199, and the RTX 3080 will launch on September 17 at 9699. That’s a big reduction in costs for improved performance.
The Nvidia RTX 3080 is using 8,704 CUDA cores, including a 1.71GHz boost watch. All of this adds about 30 teraflops of performance, three times more than the PS5 and twice as much as the Xbox Series X.
Nvidia’s RTX 3080 includes an updated dual-fan setup designed to improve airflow by more than 55 percent. Nvidia is promising more quiet and more efficient cooling, and the company is using a bracket exhaust front fan, along with a flow-through rear fan.
We’ll be reviewing Nvidia’s RTX 3080 card next week, but this initial 4K gameplay is an early indication of how capable this card will be.
