Battle lines are being drawn. Reservists are being activated. The battle between the Ford Bronco and the Jeep Wrangler is just beginning. And, like most things online, it will never go away. With the new Bronco 2021 making many waves since Ford revealed it last week, much attention has been paid to the stunt features and off-road capability of the SUV. And a lot of time has been spent comparing those features and specs to the Wrangler.
While the Bronco won’t go on sale until spring 2021, there’s a lot of excitement online. PartCatalog.com decided to turn to Twitter to determine which off-road SUV generates the most buzz in each state in the US Then the company compiled it on the map above where you can see which state Bronco is leaning and which ones favor the Wrangler. .
The site tracked more than 240,000 tweets from the past two weeks, using geo-tagged Twitter data and hashtags like #builtwild, #jeepwrangler, #jeeplife, #fordbronco, and more to determine which states favored which SUVs. However, it is not a perfect division of the country, with 28 states favoring the Bronco over the 22 that had the most support for the Wrangler. The Bronco’s “victory” could be the result of genuine enthusiasm or due to the revelation itself. Ford stepped out of the park with the Bronco buzz generating rumors away from the automotive community.

While the Bronco and Wrangler will focus for many as off-road rivalry heats up, there’s also the Land Rover Defender that offers similar capability. Still, it lacks some features of the other two, like the roof and removable doors. However, the addition of the Bronco to the market should be a victory for consumers. If the Bronco is as capable as it looks, Jeep will want to do what it can to fend off Ford’s new horse.
