De Chris Cornell statue, which was discovered in 2018, on display outside the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle, Washington has been vandalized. No word on who the dipshit is who thought this would still be a good / funny idea.
The news came from Seattle’s KIRO 7 News, which revealed this photo of the vandalism. It looks like one took white spray paint after the beautiful statue of the Soundgarden frontman.
Vicky Cornell, Chris’ widow responded on social media to the defacement, posted the news release and wrote “My children and I are here to learn from the vandalism of Chris’s statue at the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle. It “Statue is not only a work of art but a tribute to Chris, his easy musical legacy and everything he stood for. It represents Chris, who is loved not only in Seattle but worldwide.”
She went on to say “In the face of this hatred and destruction, we are once again grateful to the fans who stood up to support him and showed such immense love. It lifts our hearts to hear that fans brought deliveries and attended to cleanse the heartbreaking vandalism. “
Vicky defiantly concluded “The statue will be restored. Hate will not win. Chris is the son of Seattle!”
