Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Chris Carson has a first-degree knee running back and he raised the issue in the game due to his injury.
Carson was injured in the fourth quarter of the Seahawks’ 38-31 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday while Tristan Hill is known as a gator-roll tackle in defensive handling. He brought Carson down from behind and, with both players, continued to hold the left foot of the running back while rolling on the ground. Hill was not fined on the play.
“Yeah, I really liked it about that,” Carroll told 710 ESPN Seattle. “I don’t know what’s going to happen to him, but sadly, I was saddened by that because the man hurt him.”
A source told ESPN’s Adam Schaefter that Carson is believed to have had an injury for one to two weeks, but the team wants to see how he feels and recovers this week.
“We just have to see how it goes,” Carol said.
The Seahawks, -0-0 and on top of the NFC West, play at the Miami Dolphins next week, then return home to host the Minnesota Vikings before the weekend.
Seahawks linebacker KJ Wright also objected to Hill’s confrontation and asked the NFL to punish him in addition to the fine.
In a tweet to the NFL, Wright wrote, “This needs to be addressed ASAP! Doing dirty dumb malicious work — this could end someone’s season! This is clearly intentional and not enough to get a penalty. Boys play hard for all But I have zero tolerance for this. “
Security Quandre Diggs quoted Wright’s tweet as saying Hill should be “thrown away!”
Sivahaks was hit hard by injuries on Sunday for the second week in a row. In addition to losing Carson, all-pro safety Jamal ams Dums (groin) and rookie linebacker Jordan Brooks (knees) are called Carroll first-degree strains. Rookie right guard Damien Lewis kicked his ankle. Carroll said he’s no ankle sprain and Lewis has a chance to play this week.
Carol said Adams’ groin postgame “really bothers him.”
“He came to play really badly because he wants to play badly and you can imagine how important that is to him,” Carol said. “But it also had first-stage stress so we’ll see how it goes and we’ll keep going with it … day in and day out.”
Brooks, the first-round pick of the Seahawks, began his first career on Sunday in place of Bruce Irwin, who faced a season-ending ACL tear in Week 2.
The Seahawks played on Sunday without starting right cornbuck K Quinton Dunbar (knee) and backup safety Leno Hill (hip), who would be a candidate if Adams were to miss the time. Carroll said both players, especially Hill, have a chance to play this week.
“Quinton, we’re working on his knees,” Carroll said. “We’ve made sure he comes back. We’ll see how he does. We thought he’ll make it in a week and it hasn’t improved. He was given a little treatment and some stuff that gives him a chance.” We have to wait and see. “
