Seattle protesters hit by car

A car in Seattle crashed into protesters on a closed highway early Saturday morning, sending bodies flying, according to images of the incident.

Two women suffered serious injuries after a white vehicle rushed down the road and threw them into the air. The driver was later arrested. The moment was captured on video by horrified viewers.

Both victims are in their twenties.

“A vehicle went through the lock and hit several pedestrians on the highway. Two people were transported to Harborview, ”Washington State Patrol spokesman Private Rick Johnson tweeted Saturday. “The soldiers are investigating right now. The SB lanes of I-5 will remain nearby for a time. ”

Seattle has been the scene of protests for weeks since the murder of George Floyd on May 25, and the I-5 freeway had been closed due to activities related to the protests.

Activists in the city briefly expelled police from much of the center to establish a police-free “autonomous zone” that quickly became the site of much violence.

Protesters were expelled from the camp this week.
