Seahawks CB Dunbar is being removed from the list

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar will be removed from the list of released commissioners, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported Saturday afternoon.

Dunbar’s removal comes a day after the Broward State (Florida) law firm announced it had refused to file criminal charges against Dunbar for his involvement in a May 13 incident in Miramar, Florida because of insufficient evidence.

The veteran cornerback is now set to return to Seattle on Sunday, Pelissero added.

Charges were initially filed against Dunbar, along with New York Giants cornerback Deandre Baker, on charges of stealing money and watches from four men at a house party in the said May 13 incident. While prosecutors on Friday failed to file charges against Dunbar, Baker was charged with four counts of rolling a firearm. Baker remains on the list of exempt commissioners.

The NFL could investigate further as new information comes to light against Dunbar, Pelissero reported.

Baker and Dunbar, who each went to high school in Florida, surrendered on May 16 and were later released on bail.

Dunbar enters his first season with the Seahawks after spending the previous five seasons with the Washington Football Team. Dunbar was traded to Seattle in the offseason after a 2019 campaign in which he scored 37 tackles and defended eight passes in 11 starts last season.
