Scump, Dashy, and other CoD pros respond to Black Ops Cold War

After months of anticipation, Treyarch and Raven Software officially unveiled the next entry in the Call of Duty franchise, Black Ops Cold War, and the revelation was mostly met with praise from professional CDL players.

After months of complete silence, Activision publisher and developer Treyarch drew the curtain on Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War at the first live event in Warzone.

The Black Ops Cold War trailer received a most positive reception, with many in the community praising the game for its impressive visual and interesting setting, as well as the return of classic characters such as Woods, Mason, and Hudson.

In addition to the casual fanbase, however, the professional community also saw it, and many professional players of Call of Duty League posted their reactions over the next episode of the series.

By the way, although pro players enjoy many of the casual aspects of Call of Duty games, their main focus and priority is on the competitive side.

While nothing about the multiplayer was announced in this August 26 revelation, it still provided the opportunity for CDL stars to get a sense of what to expect when Black Ops Cold War drops on November 13th.

Here are the reactions from some of the biggest stars of the pro scene, including the likes of the Huntsmen’s Scump, FaZe’s aBeZy, OpTic Gaming’s Dashy, and more.

Of course, as mentioned above, these reactions were only on the first trailer of the game. With the full public multiplayer setting set to take place on September 9, many of these pro players will get a good look at what they will be competing with when the second season of the Call of Duty League begins.

There are still a lot of announcements to be made, especially when it comes to the competing side of Black Ops Cold War, and despite all these positive first thoughts, these players have their own wishlists for what they want in the 2020 title.

For example, the aforementioned Scump explained what he thinks will make BOCW the “perfect” CoD, one of which is a return to 4v4, which many of his teammates have expressed as well. Competitive Call of Duty officially switched to a 5v5 format in 2018 when Black Ops 4 was announced, but that decision has since met with mixed reviews, at its best.

Scump wants Black Ops Cold War to have a competitive format of 4v4, which has also been repeated by other players.

All in all, given the early positive reactions to her game, it looks like Treyarch has another hit on their hands. With modern competition not highly regarded by the competitive player base, especially on a professional level, it may not be much necessary this time to get the support of the pros.
