Scientists have confirmed the existence of a high-velocity space storm above the North Pole. Scientists have for the first time got a glimpse of an event that is believed to revolve around all the planets. The Daily Mail reports that a research team led by China’s Shandong University made the announcement following an analysis of plasma moving hundreds of miles above the North Pole in a 621-mile-wide moving mass.
A space hurricane exists over the North Pole
According to the Daily Mail, the researchers observed a large cyclone-shaped auroral site with almost zero-flow center and strong circular horizontal plasma flow and shears, all found in hurricanes in the lower atmosphere. Space hurricanes rained down electrons instead of rain. The space hurricane moved in an anticlockwise direction like a hurricane on Earth in the Northern Hemisphere and lasted about eight hours until it finally broke.
Hurricanes could be a global phenomenon on planets with a magnetic field and plasma, and on the moon, Professor Mike Wood Wood, of the University of Reading, told the Daily Mail. He said so far it was uncertain whether space plasma hurricanes existed but observation is incredible. Previous observations have seen space storms on Mars, Saturn and Jupiter which are similar to storms in low atmospheres. The latest discovery is the first time a hurricane has been observed in the Earth’s upper atmosphere.

According to a study published in Nature, “A hurricane is associated with strong energy radiation and mass transport, so a hurricane in the Earth’s upper atmosphere must violently and effectively transfer solar wind and motion into the Earth’s ionosphere.” The researchers explained that space storms have opened up energy transfer channels from space to the ionosphere and the thermosphere. It will help reveal important details of the space’s weather effects, such as satellite traction, interruptions in high-frequency radio communications, and more.
