Save two savings heads before week 1

We have seen the Green Bay Packers make surprise cuts in the past, although I would consider it unlikely, here are two possible cap losses this summer.

Considering that the Green Bay Packers take to the field for the first time on Saturday, there is already quite a bit of talk about their off-season 2021. They obviously have five free agents with big names to follow, they will again not have a ton of spendable cap space have, and there is a possibility that wages will fall due to lost income in 2020.

Do it all together, and Brian Gutekunst and Russ Ball are in store for a tough offseason ahead.

This is why the Green Bay Packers did not spend big money in free agency earlier in the offseasons, and should continue to try to roll out as much salary cap as possible from 2020. And there are a few ways to do that.

They could catch the eye under the road like the Kansas City Chiefs recently did with some contract extensions. What this does is it reduces the hit of the cap often in the current season and spreads the money over the coming years. Upcoming free agents David Bakhtiari and Kenny Clark, who have cap hits in 2020 of $ 14.7 million and $ 7.9 million, respectively, are expansion candidates.

Another move that could be made is that Green Bay could still make some surprising cuts, as long as the player’s dead hit is less than their salary cap hit. This is a prequel set in the past by both Ted Thompson and Gutey.

Under Thompson, we saw the Packers pass by Josh Sitton, who came as a shock. And just last offseason, Gutey did the same with Mike Daniels. Nobody outside the organization really saw these moves coming, but Green Bay was clearly comfortable with the moves, and they were able to save some money as well.

So when we look at the Green Bay Packers roster after training camp, although I expect both of these players to be in Week 1, I believe there is a possibility that one of both players could also be cut , even if the chance is small. Here are two names to keep your eyes peeled.
