Sauk Co. Health Dept. warns of COVID-19 exposure at Reedsburg district-wide registration event


MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Someone who attended a district-wide registration meeting for the Reedsburg School District on Tuesday has since tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Sauk Co. Health Dept.

The individual attended the registration session Tuesday, Aug. 11, 9:15 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., health officials said. She explained that the person did not currently show any symptoms but may have been infected, adding that the risk of potential exposure was low.

“Sauk County Public Health and the School District of Reedsburg have worked closely together to respond to this potential exposure and to strengthen existing preventative measures,” said Sauk County Health Officer Tim Lawther.

The health department asks anyone who attends the event to check for symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, cough, fever, such as a loss of taste or smell, and inform their health care provider when they begin to experience them. More information on symptoms can be found here.

The school district stated that all parents, teachers and staff who may have been affected have been informed.
