Saquon Barkley, Alvin Kamara snubbed at ‘Madden’ ratings

Fantasy players know that Saquon Barkley and Alvin Kamara are two of the most dangerous players in soccer when they have the ball in their hands. The “Madden” rating adjusters mostly agree, but it still appears that both Barkley and Kamara were rejected on the “Madden NFL 21” ratings.

Those rankings, which were released Tuesday, rank Barkley as the game’s fifth-best runner. Kamara is tied for eighth. Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey leads the way with a perfect score of 99.

Derrick Henry comes in second with a 93. He is followed by Nick Chubb with a score of 92, while Ezekiel Elliott is fourth with 92. Barkley and Dalvin Cook are tied for fifth with a score of 91.

On the surface, complaining about 91 for Barkley and 88 for Kamara sounds silly. Those are both high marks. But it must be defended that both players deserve a higher rating in the position. Despite his youth and injury last season, Barkley is considered one of the game’s best runners. It appears that “Madden’s” rating adjusters are sleeping on his ability, at least compared to other runners in the league.

Detroit Lions legend Barry Sanders was quite satisfied with Barkley’s rating, though he believes “Madden” was wrong about Barkley’s ball carrier vision stat.

Barkley, 23, agreed and retweeted Sanders’ tweet.

Kamara, 24, had a bad year by her high standards, but injuries probably played a part in that. Kamara was limited by ankle and knee problems, and said he played the 2019 NFL season on one leg. Despite that, he still racked up 797 rushing yards and 533 receiving yards in 14 games. He is also a major candidate to see his touchdowns increase in 2020 after scoring just six touchdowns in 2019. Kamara scored 13 touchdowns in his rookie season and 18 touchdowns in his sophomore year.

While Kamara was disappointed with her injury rate, she was satisfied with her overall rate of 88.

“Madden NFL 21” revealed his quarterback ratings on Monday. Patrick Mahomes led the way with a perfect 99, followed by Russell Wilson and Lamar Jackson. The quarterback’s biggest snub could have been Deshaun Watson, who is eighth in the position.

That’s the list of snubbed players. We feel pretty confident saying that Barkley, Kamara, and Watson will rank higher in next year’s version of the game.
