The dashboard contains information on the total number of residents vaccinated to date, race / ethnicity, gender, and age information from the state Department of Public Immigration’s California Department of Public Health.
Officials said the data helps ensure and ensure proper access for people at risk of serious illness and death, as well as for those at greatest risk of exposure.
Santa Clara County Health Officer Dr. “Addressing health inequalities and ensuring equal access to the covid vaccine for our severely affected communities is a first priority for the county,” said Sara Cody.
The county’s recent “no wrong door policy” move is an example of overcoming vaccination barriers.
The new policy, announced Thursday, allows residents aged years and years to book appointments at any vaccine provider regardless of their coverage in an effort to streamline vaccination for any at-risk communities.
Years years Seniors aged COVID-19 aged 81 years have died and about 60% have been hospitalized. So far, about 24% of the county’s 65+ population has been vaccinated and 37% of those 75+.
As of Thursday, more than 10% of the county’s 16% and older population had received at least one dose of the vaccine, “showing strong progress”, towards the goal of vaccinating 85% of the population by Aug. 1, 2021.
The new vaccine data dashboard will be updated daily. This information has been self-reported by vaccine providers in the county and includes information from non-county residents such as healthcare workers who live elsewhere but work in Santa Clara County.
