Actor Sanjay Dutt’s wife Maanayata, in a statement on Tuesday night, said: “While our family is shaking up, we intend to fight tooth and nail.” Maanayata also thanked well-wishers for showering Sanjay Dutt with a great deal of love after announcing that he had taken a break from work due to medical treatment. Maanayata’s statement came just after the actor left his residence for the Kokilaben Hospital of Mumbai, where he went for treatment. Mr. Dutt, 61, has not revealed details about his health condition. In her statement, Maanayata described the current scenario as a “challenge” that the Dutts have chosen to deal with “positivity and grace.” Maanayata, who recently flew out of Dubai, wrote that she would not be able to visit Sanjay Dutt in hospital until her quarantine period at home is over.
In her statement, Maanayata dedicated a note of gratitude to Sanjay Dutt’s sister Priya Dutt as the “torchbearer”, calling her long-term association with the Dutt family’s cancer foundation and having seen her mother Nargis Dutt “fight against this disease”. . ” Sanjay Dutt has another sister named Namrata, who addresses Maanayata in her statement as Anju. Following Sanjay Dutt’s announcement last week, several news reports suggested he was diagnosed with cancer. In her statement, Maanayata made a plea – “stop speculating on the stage of his illness.”

“To all the fans and wishes of Sanju I can not begin to thank you for the love and warmth you have shown him all these years.
Sanju has been through many ups and downs in his life, but what has happened to him through every difficult phase has always been your adulation and support. And for this we will always be grateful. We are now being tested through yet another challenge, and I know the same love and warmth will see him through this time as well.
As a family, we have decided to approach this with positivity and grace. We will go our lives as normal as possible, with a smile, because this will be a tough battle and a long journey. And, we must do this for Sanju, without any negativity.
During these trying times, I have unfortunately not been by his side in the hospital, due to my quarantine at home ending in a few days. Each battle has a torchbearer and one who holds the fort. Priya, who has worked extensively for over two decades with our family-run Cancer Foundation, and who has also seen her mother fight this disease, has been our incredible torchbearer while I will keep it fort.
For those who ask, Sanju will complete his preliminary treatment in Mumbai. We will formulate further travel plans, depending on how and when the covid situation makes it easier. As of now, Sanju is in the best hands of our esteemed doctors in Kokilaben Hospital.
I ask everyone, with my full hands, to stop speculating on the stage of his illness and let the doctors continue to do their work. We will update you regularly with his progress.
Sanju is not only my husband and father to our children, but he has also been a father figure to Anju and Priya, after they lost their parents.
He is the heart and soul of our family.

On Tuesday night, Mr Dutt was pictured outside his residence just minutes before he went to Kokilaben Hospital. He was in the company of his sisters Priya and Namrata, as well as Maanayata. “Pray for me,” Mr. Dutt said before getting into the car. Sanjay Dutt was also found outside the hospital on Sunday night.

Earlier this month, Mr Dutt announced his break from work in posts on social media. At the time, Maanyata had said, “It is my heartfelt request to the fans of Sanju to take a short break from work for some medical treatment, but to simply help us with their continued love, warmth and support.”

The new movie by Sanjay Dutt Sadak 2, which was scheduled for a theatrical release this month, will now be released on OTT platform Disney + Hotstar among other major Bollywood movies. The trailer of Sadak 2 was released Wednesday. The actor was last seen in the 2019 film Panipat.
