Let’s say it as it is: We all love Nick Bosa!
The 22-year-old Defensive Rookie of the Year continues to impress people across the league as he prepares for his second season.
Bosa will be even better than he was in 2019, and will get a lot of voter attention when it comes to the Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2020.
NFL Network’s Brian Baldinger was on 95.7 The Game and highly praised Bosa (h / t 49ers Web Zone):
“I honestly believe in talking to players who have played Nick Bosa in practice, and speaking to oppositions who have had to block him.” I think, and I was with a general manager last night talking about pass riders and specifically Nick Bosa, I think he has a very good chance of being the defensive MVP for this league. I think he has that kind of talent. And I think he plays with that kind of effort that he can play any game on any play with his ability to get to the quarterback, get the calls on hold, whatever. Look, if the 49ers made that Super Bowl game, he could very well have been the Super Bowl MVP the way he played in that game. “
Bosa had five tackles and one catch in the Super Bowl. He was chasing QB Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs until officials decided what to expect, and any other football infraction was no longer a penalty.
Michael Lombardi summed it up perfectly:
As you can see, I’m still bitter about it.
Bosa should be in the Niners’ uniform for years to come, so we hope to see a couple of Super Bowl championships during that time. It will be expensive to keep the defensive lineman in the Bay Area long-term, considering what they just paid for Bosa’s brother.
Which NFL players will be Bosa’s main competition for the Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2020?
