Today is the COVID-19 update from the County Health and Human Services Agency with data up to October 23rd.
State metrics:
- San Diego County’s state-calculated, adjusted case rate is currently 7.0 per 100,000 residents, putting the county in the red tire.
- The test positivity percentage is 3.3%, placing the county in tier or orange tires.
- The state’s health equity metric looks positive for testing for areas with the least healthy conditions.
- The county’s health equity test positivity percentage is 5.5. This does not move metric counties to more restricted levels but needs to move forward.
- The California Department of Public Health will evaluate the counties on a weekly basis, with the next report scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 27.
Community setup eruption:
- New CTO. On the 23rd, six new community outbreaks were confirmed: two in commercial settings, one in a hair salon or non-barbers XP setting, one in a restaurant, one in a restaurant / bar setting and one in a grocery setting.
- In the last seven days (Oct. 17 to Oct. 23), 25 community outbreaks were confirmed.
- The number of community outbreaks is above seven or more triggers in seven days.
- Outbreaks appear to be exacerbated during the last 14 days, with three or more Covid-19 cases being reported in different households.
Testing:
- As of Oct. 23, 10,784 trials were reported in the county, and the percentage of newly laboratory-confirmed cases was 4%.
- The 14-day rolling average percentage of positive cases is 2.8%. The target is less than 8.0%.
- The 7-day, daily average of tests is 11,329.
- People with high risk for Covid-19 and those without it should be examined. Health care and essential workers should also get a test, as well as people who have had close contact with a positive case or lived in communities that are being severely affected.
Case:
- San Kto. On the 23rd, 386 new cases were confirmed among San Diego County residents. The total number of this sector is now 54,314.
- 84,842૨ or 1.1% of all cases require hospitalization.
- 885 or 1.6% of all cases and 23% of hospitalized cases had to be admitted to the intensive care unit.
Mortality:
- A new COVID-19 was reported dead on November 23 in San Diego County. The total number of this area is now 868.
- One man, aged in his 70s and 70s, died on October 23.
- The man had an underlying medical condition.
