While Samsung’s mobile boss TM Roh has telegraphed plans to add stylus support to more phones in its lineup, there could also be a new Galaxy Note in 2021. An unnamed Samsung official said Yonhapp That the company is “preparing to release the Galaxy Note series next year” and that “Rohna’s message does not mean that the Galaxy Note series will be discontinued.”
Samsung declined to comment on its specifications YonhappReport when contacted by Edge, But provided the following statement:
Samsung has confirmed plans to bring some of the Galaxy Note’s most beloved features into the more device category by 2021. We are committed to providing our customers with the best mobile experience and we will continue to actively listen and consider customer feedback across all our product innovations. We cannot share any further details at this time.
The obvious question, if YonhappThe report is accurate, how Samsung will differentiate the Note range. This year’s model already felt like you were paying for the S Pen support alone, considering how the Galaxy S20FA took it to the specs and lowered it in price.
The Note 20 Ultra was more attractive – albeit expensive – the proposal, but it’s hard to see how it would fit in with the Eastern complement of the stylus-compatible Galaxy S21 devices with comparable screen sizes. And the Galaxy Z Fold 2 shows that a foldable phone at the top end of Samsung’s range could soon be a more comprehensive option.
Samsung expects its widely leaked flagship Galaxy S phones to be unveiled in January, a little earlier than usual. We’ll have to wait and see if that lineup leaves any room for potential Note 21 to fill.
