Samsung unpacked looks less exciting with this news

Samsung is trying to depress people this week, with XDA’s Max Weinbach details a rumor on Twitter that the company will not reveal the Galaxy Z Fold 2 device we’ve been waiting patiently for at your next Unpacked event in August. This information stems from the fact that the software for the device does not appear to be ready for launch, and the operator tests do not appear to be complete.

Weinbach states that we can see a preview at the end of Unpacked, similar to what Samsung did for the original Galaxy Z Flip. If that happens, we may see the phone in September or October, but that’s just guessing.

Mr. Weinbach goes on to say, “I’m 60% sure they won’t even talk about it at the event, but I’m 100% sure they won’t publish it.”

Personally, I’m not even sure how one can be 60% sure of something, but that doesn’t matter. What I do know is that this Samsung move displeases me. Unpacked 2020 was shaping up to be Samsung’s biggest event in a long time, with the Galaxy Note 20 line, the Tab S7 line, Galaxy Beans, as well as the Galaxy Watch 3 the company showed off. All of that would have been completed with a sequel to the best sofa phone in the Galaxy Z Fold 2. Sure, awful name, but probably a super cool phone.
