Samsung will launch the Galaxy S21 series in Q1 next year. Reports have claimed that the South Korean company may cancel the Galaxy Note line next year. This may be the reason why the Galaxy S21 Ultra S Pen is predicted to arrive with support. A recent report from a South Korean publication Aju News (By) Says that Samsung Electronics has confirmed that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 foldable phone will break the cover in June 2021. It also claims that the company will discontinue the Galaxy Note series.
According to the report, Samsung has started developing the final models of Galaxy Z Fold 3 for mass production. The premium foldable phone is expected to come with Samsung’s latest technologies like the S Pen and the under-display camera Mera.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will have a compartment dedicated to holding the S Pen. Previous reports have revealed that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will not have an S Pen compartment, but it will support it. Since the S Pen support is available on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and S21 Ultra, Samsung will discontinue the Note series. Fold 3 will be official by the last week of June, the report said.
Although the company succeeded in installing an in-screen digitizer to identify the S Pen, it was difficult to develop tempered glass that prevents the screen from scratching when using the S Pen. Therefore, the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 2S have not arrived with pen support. In an effort to enable S Pen support, Samsung replaced the CPI film with the Galaxy Z Fold 2 with ultra-thin glass (UTC). Since the first-generation UTC could not bring S-Pen support, Samsung Display worked with its subsidiary Dow.
Recent reports have revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will provide a full-screen experience as it will include an under-display camera. However, if the use of UDC results in spoiling the screen or low quality photos, Samsung may exclude the feature from the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
