The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 appeared in another unofficial practical video, this one shows us a complete unboxing of the new smart watch.
The publisher of this video is YouTuber The Mobile Central (via SamMobile), and the watch was apparently obtained from a retailer somewhere in the UAE. Based on this video and other leaks, the Apple Watch 6 has an elegant rival on its hands.
Coming in a slim and simple design case, accompanied only by Samsung documentation and a USB charging base, this version of the Galaxy Watch 3 is the 41mm Mystic Bronze model with a leather strap. Samsung will also be selling a larger 45mm version, which looks like it will be necessary as The Mobile Central complains that it had a hard time getting the smaller watch to fit.
In addition to this bronze / leather combination, we’ve also seen a black / leather version for both this size and the larger 45mm Galaxy Watch 3. Other strap colors and materials may also be offered, but there have been no leaks to confirm that yet.
After setting up the watch, we take a look at the new version of Tizen OS that Samsung has created for the watch. There’s a nice, simple-looking watch face, an activity / fitness window, and other watch apps, which you can slide or navigate by turning the watch’s bezel. The bezel was a key design feature of the original Galaxy Watch, and it apparently feels much better to use it here than it did in the original.
Based on leaks we’ve seen, the Apple Watch 6 is likely to have the same square design as the Apple Watch 5 and Apple Watch 4, although the new smartwatch may feature a more efficient microLED display. The Galaxy Watch 3 is more like a real watch, which some prefer.
There are also different watch faces shown at the end of the video, if you want something more hassle for additional information. Since the watch will have features like sleep tracker, workout tracker, and sleep monitor, all of this is likely something you can add to the watch face to customize to your needs.
Expect to see the Galaxy Watch 3 at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event on August 5. It won’t be there alone as this is the time when we also expect to see the Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Buds Live and Galaxy Tab S7 also making its first official appearances.
