The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 will be revealed on August 5 during Samsung Unpacked, the company’s president unveiled in a preview of the event shared yesterday.
In a Samsung Newsroom blog post, TM Roh confirmed that 5 new devices are being launched in Unpacked. While we expect at least 3 of them to be phones, led by the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series, Roh wrote that the keynote will also include “on your wrist” devices.
Specifically, Roh wrote: “You will have the power to live life to the fullest with these devices in your hand (and in your ears and on your wrist).”
In recent weeks, the leaks lead us to believe that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 would debut sometime in July. Not only have numerous FCC files and firmware details been released online, but Samsung’s precedent also suggested that the new handheld device would come before the Note 20 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2.
Last summer, the company released the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 several days before the Galaxy Note 10 was unpacked. This year Unpacked will take place in early August, meaning that the launch of Watch 3 in late July could be on the mark.
That does not mean that the above timeline is out of the question. We could still see it in the days leading up to Unpacking, then learn more or see it in action during the event.
The same could be said for the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live, the next pair of true bean-shaped wireless headphones with active noise cancellation. A leak launched the healer’s launch with the launch of Watch 3, and both went on sale at the same time as Unpacked.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 incoming?
The Galaxy Watch 3 will be offered in Bluetooth and LTE variants, as well as 41mm and 45mm cases. Each model will sport the infamous rotating bezel, Gorilla Glass DX display, 5ATM-rated water resistance, military-standard durability, and on-board GPS. See our Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 vs. Galaxy Watch Active 2 face-to-face for more information on the biggest changes we expect.
Leaker Evan Blass has suggested that the price of the Galaxy Watch 3 will start at $ 400 and hit $ 600. This could coincide with the expected price range of the upcoming Apple Watch 6: the entry level of the Apple Watch Series 5 starts at $ 399, as reference.
We should know more about the Galaxy Watch 3 sooner if it’s really on track to launch in the next 3 weeks.
