Rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S21 series have been circulating for some time and, with three months to go before the announcement is made, much confusion remains. Fortunately, Steve Hammerstoffer is here with the first render of Samsung’s next-gen flagships.

There is a unique new camera bump in Samsung’s works

Today is the painted standard Galaxy S2 5G model. It promotes an improved look centered around a brand new camera design that creates a more unique look.

Samsung has replaced the b-black camera bump used on the Galaxy S20 with a color that matches the color of the phone. Each individual sensor is illuminated within the area, like the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, and it bends over a metal frame.

Looks like no plans to add more cameras in 2021 – Samsung has fitted the Galaxy S21 with three rear cameras – although the general sensor is expected to be upgraded for better results.

Samsung was praised for the minimalist front panel design introduced on the Galaxy S20, and these leaked renders indicate that the South Korean company has taken everything on board.
The 5G Galaxy S21 looks almost identical to its predecessor thanks to the presence of a 6.2-inch punch-hole screen. Samsung has implemented a thinner bezel again and the chin looks a little thinner.

All this means that the 5G Galaxy S21 and 5G Galaxy S20 are almost the same size. Both phones are 151.7 mm tall and 7.9 mm thick, regardless of the camera bump, although there is a slight difference in width – the Galaxy S21 is 71.2 mm wide, while the Galaxy S20 was only 69.1 mm wide.

Other features that appear in the renders include a firing speaker at the bottom and a USB-C connector. Sitting on the right is the usual power button and volume rocker. Like this year, there is no legacy 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 should launch next year in the United States with Snapdragon 875 and the next Exynos 1000 or 2100 in Europe and other international markets.

Those chipsets will be paired with at least 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Other configurations with more storage and extra RAM should also be available at launch.

As for the battery, the Galaxy S21 will be powered by the same 4,000 mAh battery inside the Galaxy S20. Battery life should be better, however, Samsung is expected to use more efficient 5G modems and 5nm chipsets, both of which will reduce power consumption.

On a related note, recent reports have claimed that Samsung will support 25W power adapters, although this will not deliver within the ship.

Speaking of the announcement and release date, reports suggest that Samsung is announcing the Galaxy S21 series in January, a full month earlier than usual. This will allow it to start shipping smartphones in February and eventually take advantage of the lack of competition.
