Samsung is expected to announce four new high-end smartphones: Galaxy Fold 2, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 5G, next month. The design and features of some of these phones have been leaked before the official announcement, but some minor details were still missing. Now, the Galaxy Fold 2 5G has gone through China’s 3C certification process, revealing the specifications of its charger.
The 5G variant of the Galaxy Fold 2 with model number SM-F9160 received 3C certification, and supporting documents reveal that the Samsung foldable smartphone will come bundled with the EP-TA800 charger. The charger has a maximum output power of 9V and 2.27A or 11V and 2.25A, resulting in a total output power of 25W. This is the same charger that comes bundled with Samsung’s other high-end and mid-range smartphones, including the Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 10 series, and Galaxy A71.
A 25W charger is a step up from the first generation Galaxy Fold 15W fast charger. It was previously revealed that the Galaxy Fold 2 will come equipped with two batteries (2,275mAh and 2,090mAh), which equates to a combined battery capacity of 4,365AmAh. A recent report had claimed that Samsung could launch the Galaxy Fold 2 in just a 5G variant. The Snapdragon 865+ processor could power the second-generation Galaxy Fold device.
Rumored Galaxy Fold 2 specs
The Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to feature a larger screen in the front with a perforation cutout for the selfie camera. Inside, the device could sport a larger 7.7-inch folding screen with a 120Hz refresh screen, a punchy selfie camera, and UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) protection. It could debut with Android 10 and One UI 2.5 out of the box. The foldable phone is expected to come in 256GB and 512GB storage variants.
Similar to the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, the Galaxy Fold 2 could have a triple camera setup on the back with a 108MP main camera, a periscope-style optical zoom camera, and a wide-angle camera. Other features could include stereo speakers, Samsung Pay, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C port, wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.
