Samsung ‘Galaxy Beans’ could be a competitor to AirPods Pro

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2020 virtual event is less than a month away. But we’ve already seen the leaks we need to predict your most likely ads, including the new Galaxy Beans headphones.

Yes, it is true, Galaxy Beans. It’s been a whole week for beans.

Headphone rumors first started circulating a few months ago, when the German site WinFutur They released leaked details and images. Then on Friday, a developer known as WalkingCat took to Twitter to post what looks like Samsung’s promotional video for the headphones, one the company was probably saving for its big event.

The new headphones will come in black, white, or a rose gold “Mystic Bronze” to match the rumored Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and Z Flip 5G. They also come with what appears to be a charging cradle.

The video ends with the words “Keep the noise out. Let the sound in.” That probably means that the beans will have Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). But the absence of silicone olives leaves us wondering how effective these buttons could be in preventing noise.

As reported by SamMobileEach headphone will have three microphones and two speakers. The lower sections of the buds will be located within the ear canal, presumably eliminating the need for those silicone tips. We’ll see.

Neither Samsung’s Galaxy Buds nor Galaxy Buds + have ANC, but they have an “ambient mode” setting that makes it easier to hear the sound around you. Both models come with silicone tips and wingtips, which help fill the space between the ear canal and the buds, removing some of the noise around them.

But if the Galaxy Beans come with ANC, we could finally have a worthy competitor to AirPods Pro in our hands. The latest Apple AirPods come equipped with ANC, which adjusts for your environment to drown out ambient noise.

As for price, SamMobile He also reports that these beans are supposed to cost $ 140. By comparison, Galaxy Buds cost $ 130 while Buds + sell for $ 150.

Beyond Beans

Unfortunately, Galaxy Beans may not be the official name.

According to a tweet from the well-known filter Max Weinbach, which also corroborates WinFuture’s report, “Galaxy Beans” is the code name that Samsung uses internally when it comes to headphones, obviously because they are shaped like beans. Some reports suggest they will be called Galaxy Buds Live.

Still, that detail didn’t stop Internet dwellers from putting their own spin on a Beans theme:

In the end, perhaps Samsung should drop its official title for these headphones. They will always and forever be known as the Galaxy beans.
