Ewers announced his verbal promise to Texas via Twitter Friday night, which ignited the Longhorns’ Twitter feed and caught the attention of several prominent figures in college football.
One of those numbers is current Texas QB Sam Ehlinger, who expressed his outcry for Ewers to join the Longhorn family, as he said on his personal Twitter page on Friday.

A five-star quarterback from Southlake Carroll, Ewers pitched in Texas over offers across the country, including Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, LSU, Oklahoma and many others.
