Sakuna: from Rice and Ruin Locks at November launch, after skipping the local Nintendo Direct Mini

Yesterday’s Nintendo Direct Mini lasted for about eight minutes, but did you know that the Japanese video lasted more than 12 minutes? She completed this extra time with a series of additional games, and one of them turned out to be the beautiful-looking action, craft and farming title,. Sakuna: of rice and ruin.

Although it was not shown in the western broadcast, the Nintendo of America Twitter account has confirmed that it will launch on November 10 of this year. It will apparently launch in Europe on November 20. No reason was provided to exclude him from the local partner showcase.

As shown in the Japanese trailer (above), a special edition of this game will be released along with a standard copy. This appears to be a different offering than the ‘Divine Edition’ featured on the XSEED Games website locally, which is now available for pre-order.

Here’s a bit about this upcoming Switch release, along with some screenshots from the Nintendo website:

Developed by Edelweiss, the two-man team behind the acclaimed Astebreed, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, combines side-scrolling action with deep brewing and agricultural simulation. Players take on the role of Sakuna, a spoiled harvest goddess banished to a dangerous island with a group of marginalized humans. As you explore the beautiful but forbidding surroundings of the island, you will also find a home in a mountain village, proving yourself worthy of your title by harvesting rice and improving the lives of humanity.
