During last week’s season premiere Saturday Night Live, Host Chris Rock reacted to the news that Donald Trump tested positive for coronavirus, saying, “My heart goes to COVID.”
A week later, the president has probably recovered from the virus and returned to address the already crowded crowd. “Weekend Update” co-anchor Michael Chen had a hard time hiding his frustration on this week’s episode.
“President Trump claims to have survived the coronavirus,” Che said sarcastically, “Yeah!”
“I’m not going to say I’m disappointed, but it’s a kind of car accident and the only survivor is a drunk driver,” he added. “Trump said he wanted to meet Kovid, Price, ‘God’s blessing.’ And I claim that God was also like, ‘Hey, we tried, friends.’ “
“Really, maybe we should be more optimistic about this,” Che said. “I mean, there are two roads we can see. Which is true of Trump and ultimately we have a cure for covid. Or Trump is lying and he will still die. I wouldn’t say it’s a win-win, but it’s definitely not a win-lose. ”
Colin Jost added, “Where his co-anchor came out, I said, ‘I also have to say that someone has a near-death experience and learns nothing from it, it’s amazing.’ It’s like watching someone smoke through a hole in their throat. ”
During the rally, footage showed Trump throwing his MAGAA hat at his supporters, while he was already positive for the virus, Jost said, “It’s like an evil opera. ‘You’re getting covid! You’re getting covid! You’re getting covid! And look down at your seats, it’s a ventilator! ”
“This is a dark show,” Che admitted, before proceeding on treatment as the president believes he is “healed”.
“President Trump has said that Revenron’s therapeutic drug, made from stage cells, is a remedy for covid,” he said, “which seems unlikely, baseless, irresponsible and I can’t wait to buy 1000 shares of Regeneron baby. Juice stock.”
“It’s kind of funny that this old Republican when it comes to contraception, when it comes to everyone else,” Che concluded, “but then the stem cell could save his life as soon as I get his daughter pregnant. Is. ”
