The BTS is so big, they pushed their government that when they have to give up everything and get into the army … it is unprecedented.
South Korea has long had a law as a Military Service Act – requiring every able-bodied man in the country to serve at least 20 months before he turns 28 … and K-Pop Boy band members were no exception.
On Tuesday, however, Parliament tweeted that – allowing top K-Pop artists (who receive government praise) a 2-year deferment, which they do specifically to please the oldest member of the BTS, Kim Seok-jin, Which turns 28 this week.
S. to bend the rules. Korea’s jus chitya … BTS brings so much cultural and economic prosperity to the country – especially now that they break up with an international audience – it’s a shame to rip off a key member. He will be a major in his musical career.
You don’t mind, K-P Pop singers will not be completely exempted from serving – under this rule change they will have to put on a mic and pick up at least 30 guns … but the fact is s. Korea is leaning backwards their biggest boy band is amazing.
Surprisingly, the nation allows some concessions in their consolidation policy – medal-winning Korean Olympic athletes, and award-winning Korean musicians do not need to serve at all, unless they are recognized internationally.
The sound of something you have to do there to unhook brings a bit of prestige (and dough) … and you’re set!
