Ryan Murphy’s Netflix series “Ratched” looks basically like a new season of “American Horror Story”

Creator of “American Horror Story” Ryan Murphy re-equipment with series pillar Sarah Paulson to tell a new kind of horror story with “Ratched,” arriving to Netflix in September.

8-episode series tells the origin story of iconic one flew over the cuckoo’s nest the villainous Nurse Mildred Ratched, inviting us to “meet the woman before the monster.”

“In 1947, Mildred arrives in Northern California to seek employment at a major psychiatric hospital where new and disturbing experiments have begun on the human mind. On a clandestine mission, Mildred presents herself as the perfect picture of what a dedicated nurse should be, but the wheels always turn and when she begins to infiltrate the mental health care system and those within it, the elegant Mildred’s exterior hides a growing darkness that has long burned within, revealing that true monsters are made, not born. “
