Haas issued a condemnatory statement on Wednesday in which he said he would take internal action on the antics of the incoming driver.

The Haas F1 team did not endorse Nikita Mazapin’s behavior in a video she recently posted on social media, the statement said.

“Also, the fact that the video was posted on social media is disgusting to the Haas F1 team. The matter is being processed internally and no further comment will be made at this time. ”

Mazepin, 21, was quick to comply with the team’s statement in which he apologized for his actions.

“I apologize for both my own inappropriate behavior and the recent actions taken in posting it on social media,” Mazapin said.

“I am just ashamed to say that I have committed the crime properly and brought Haas to the F1 team.

“I have to hold myself to a high standard as a Formula 1 driver and I have to admit that I have put myself and a lot of people down. I promise I will learn from this. ”

On Thursday, the FIA ​​and F1 released a joint statement in support of Haas.

“We strongly support the Haas F1 team in response to the recent inappropriate actions of its driver, Nikita Mazapin,” the statement said.

“Mazepin has issued a public apology for his poor behavior and the matter will be dealt with internally by the Haas F1 team.

“The ethical principles of our game and the diverse and inclusive culture are of great importance to the FIA ​​and Formula 1.”

However, the woman in the video, who took to social media to defend Mazapin after the hurricane broke out, said she uploaded the clip as a “joke” and did not mean to put her in any trouble.

“We trust each other a lot and this was a silly way to joke between us.
