The son of the former director of the Moscow region Klin district, Alexander Postrigan, convicted of corruption, tried to commit suicide at Barcelona airport during his extradition at the request of the Russian authorities. This was reported by TASS with reference to a source familiar with the case materials.

“Valery Postrigan was arrested on the territory of the Kingdom of Spain at the request of the Russian authorities last year. On November 12, he was transferred by the Spanish law enforcement agencies to the Barcelona International Airport, but the extradition was not carried out because he tried to commit suicide, ”the source said, citing TASS.

The official’s son was charged in absentia with land and real estate fraud in Russia. According to preliminary information, the damage caused is estimated at several tens of millions of rubles.

We will remember, on the eve that Alexander Postrigan was sentenced to 15 years in prison, convicted of receiving a large bribe and two episodes of abuse of power. In addition, the former official was fined 116 million rubles.
