People from the entourage of former Jordanian Crown Prince Hamza bin Hussein were associated with “foreign forces”, together with whom they planned to overthrow King Abdullah II. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Ayman Safadi, at a press conference, reports the Saraya news agency.
Safadi said that the special services had been monitoring the actions and movements of Prince Hamza and other conspirators for a long time. “During the investigation, contacts abroad were discovered, with whom the most appropriate moment to initiate the coup and destabilize the country was discussed,” said the deputy prime minister.
He explained that the preliminary investigation showed that people from around Khamza contacted people from other states, including the “so-called foreign opposition”, in order to use them for information filling and provocations.
