A trio of images from the PlayStation 5 has appeared online (via the Chinese forum A9VG), supposedly showing the console’s external casing before it is attached to the system. Riveted, we know, but it’s interesting to see how they look. Unsurprisingly, the white ‘plates’ on the console are separate from the machine itself, but from the number of connection points these things have, we wouldn’t say that the ‘case’ seems easy to remove and replace.
And, well, that’s all there is to this story, really. There has been a lot of speculation that it will be able to remove the case from the PS5 and that Sony may start selling custom motherboards, but there is no real evidence to support this, at least not yet. We are also not sure if these images confirm anything.
In any case, it probably won’t be long until we see more PS5 images leaking. We haven’t seen the console out of Sony’s official marketing materials yet, but we do know that mass production started this summer.
