Anne, Princess Royal, born Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise, is the second child and only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. She is currently 14th in line to the throne and has held the title of Princess Royal since 1987. Princess Anne is known for her extensive, high-profile charitable work, which includes her protection of more than 200 organizations, many of which aim to save the lives of people in developing countries.

And now, her mother, the Queen has shared a touching and heartfelt post ahead of a special event for Anne.

Speaking to the Royal Family’s official Instagram account, the Queen announced that she would be sharing photos of each decade of her daughter’s life in the run-up to her 70th birthday.

A post on Royals’ Instagram story reads: “The Princess Royal will be 70 new week, on Saturday 15 August.

“For the next seven days, we will look back on every decade of HRH’s life … starting with her birth in 1950!”

The post added: “Princess Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise was born in Clarence House.

“She is the second child and only daughter of The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.”

One of the photos was taken at Princess Anne’s baptism on October 21, 1950, and shows her sitting on her mother’s lap with a proud Prince Philip behind her.

The headline read: “The princess was baptized at Buckingham Palace, in the presence of her immediate family.

A third photo shared of Anne by the Royals shows a young Princess Royal in the Girl Guides.

The title of the image reads: ‘When the princess was nine years old, the first Buckingham Palace Company of Girl Guides was reformed.

‘It was originally reformed in 1937, for her mother, [the then] Princess Elizabeth! ”

The photos also made sure to highlight Princess Anne’s love of horses, with one photo of a young Anne with one of her favorite horses.

“The Princess Royal is a famous equestrian sport, and her love for horses began at a young age!”, Reads the title.

The love and touching tribute to Princess Anne ends with the Royal as a teenager, with the title: “Hold on to our stories tomorrow, where we will look back on the toes of the Princess Royal!”

However, Princess Anne is set to miss one royal tradition on her birthday new week.

The ringing of bells at Westminster Abbey, which means royal birthday, will not continue as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
