When Washington takes on Cincinnati on Sunday, the top two selections in the 2020 NFL Draft will be against each other, with the Bengals quarterback trying to avoid the defensive end of the Burroughs football team, Chase Young. Washington coach Ron Riviera announced this week that his team had finished second, always looking at Burroughs and Young as the top two picks in the draft and none of them would be happy.

Rivera said he wanted to draft Young because he thought he would win the defense championship, but he was also too high on the borough and they would have taken him if the Bengals had taken the youngster.

“We think the championship is won by playing good defense. We felt very strongly about them. The only other option we felt was a viable one and was obviously taken over by Cincinnati, ”Rivera said via SI.com. “We think that’s the whole package. We really do. We think Chase is the perfect package. Based on what Cincinnati did, we’re going to do that. .Lutton. We didn’t think we would get lost anywhere. We really didn’t. We think both players are going to be great players and their careers will be good and we have chased. ”

Rivera’s comments give an interesting insight into his mindset about Dwan Haskins, the quarterback Rivera inherited in Washington. If Rivera Burro was ready to draft a second round, it would mean that he was also ready to overtake Huskins a year after taking Washington in the first round.

Now it looks like Riviera is ready to move on from Haskins anyway, as he was benched after a poor start to the season. But the question arises as to whether Washington did not draft Tua Tagovaloa or Justin Herbert. Young may prove to be a great defensive end, but contrary to Riviera’s belief that the defense wins the championship, the franchise quarterback who actually wins the championship. And while Washington and Herbert pass by, Washington Washington may pass on two of them.
