Roman Reigns told Vince McMahon he wanted to lose before The Revival, Randy Orton and other WWE stars went to bat for them

All FTR, Elite Wrestling, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler wrestling, did an interview for Fightful Select this week. She discusses her signing with AEW, her time in WWE and much more during this interview.

It’s no secret that Harwood and Wheeler were not happy with much of the creativity while they were there and they had several wrestlers backing them up. Randy Orton lobbied for the FTRKO stable that never got off the ground and there were others who wanted to join FTR, but Vince McMahon did not see them as top hunters.

Dax Harwood talks about guys like Orton and Roman Reigns who went to Vince McMahon to try to convince him that he would do more with FTR, then known as The Revival.

Harwood said: ‘I have told her (WWE) that if they take this opportunity with us and Randy, there is no reason to dismiss these contracts. None. We saw Roman Reigns go to Vince and say I want to work with these guys and he said I want to hit me. We saw Bray Wyatt do that, and also Matt Hardy, The Usos, New Day and then of course we saw Randy do it on a weekly basis. The reason it took 6 or 8 weeks was because Randy had been pushing for her for so long. The things we did with him and New Day could have been such a great money business, but those were not the plans. That’s not what Vince wanted. We would get 2 days at home and I’m in love with my wife and daughter, but I would take hours of her to sit in front of the computer to present pitches and nooks and crannies for me and Cash for the creative team, to present to Vince and they were never accustomed. But I never stopped because I wished we were the best and I wished he knew we could work harder than anyone else or at least as hard as anyone else on television. Randy respected our work and our work ethic to the point that, and I do not know if he would want us to tell this, but he can not get too mad at us because he loves us. He flew to Ashville to work with us for his Greatest Match of All Time at Backlash because he wanted to get ready and get his technical wrestling down and stuff like that. We made a bond and a friendship. I wish they came along, but they did not. ‘

There was much more treatment during the interview, including thoughts on AEW, possibly adding 6-Man Tag titles, why she started using the pile driver in AEW, the psychology behind a match team match and more. You can listen to the full interview at Fightful Select.
