The Hi-Rez version of the tactical hero shooter genre, Rogue Company, is available today from the Epic Game Store. The trailer to present its early access release was shown at the Summer Game Fest conference and focused on the newest of the game’s 12 “rogues”, swordsman Ronin.
While the genre has gotten pretty busy recently thanks to games like Valorant, Rogue Company is trying to differentiate itself by bringing a bit of Battle Royale to the proceedings. Instead of each team starting in a generation area, each player will parachute and decide where they will land. Anyone can guess if that will be enough to really make it stand out in a quickly crowded genre, but visually it’s pretty cool.
Founder’s pack prices start at $ 14.99 for the starter edition, which includes six of the 12 rogues and some cosmetics. The $ 39.99 standard edition includes all twelve rogues and more cosmetics, including a rogue Chaac outfit. For $ 59.99 you can get the Ultimate Edition that includes everything in the Starter and Standard editions and, wait, even more exclusive cosmetics.
Early access is available today at the Epic Game Store, a date for its full release has yet to be announced.
