The president commuted Stone’s sentence on Friday, just days before Stone was released to prison.
Stone, 67, told Axios that he felt that going to a prison where “he couldn’t be socially estranged” would be “a death sentence” in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that he is “asthmatic.”
Stone, who acted as campaign advisor for Trump in the 2016 election, also predicted that Trump will win reelection in November.
“It will be a very tough fight. It has three obstacles: electoral fraud … internet censorship, which I have recently experienced myself; and, of course, the constant falsehoods that are being promoted by the main corporate media. All make it a difficult race, ”he said. Earlier this month, Facebook removed a network of more than 100 pages and accounts associated with Stone after determining they engaged in “authentic uncoordinated behavior” focused on US audiences.
“But he is a great activist. He’s a great communicator, “added Stone.
