Rocksteady Studios has released new statement on allegations of misconduct

Rocksteady Studios on Friday issued another statement on the recent allegations of sexist and unfavorable behavior in the workplace and the failure to take action against such behavior. In their response, the makers of the new Suicide Rocksteady said actions have been taken to be more inclusive and a third-party organization has been enrolled to talk further with Rocksteady employees. These accusations and the answers came over in the time that led to the studio’s big reveal Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the studio’s next project to be unveiled at DC FanDome.

The Guardian published a report this week detailing sexual harassment, unusual behavior and rejected behavior towards women, while referring to a 2018 letter sent to Rocksteady bosses intended to address the issues. Rocksteady later released some of a statement, which included a new letter from some of its employees. Some signatories to the first modest letter penned the latter saying that the sources used in The Guardian’s article did not provide an honest representation of the parties involved.

However, the statement from her staff was never intended as Rocksteady’s full answer. That statement came on Friday, the night before Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s reveal.

“In response to the initial communication, we met with all of our female staff, we listened, and we addressed the issues that were raised,” Rocksteady said regarding the first letter of 2018. “All formal complaints were thoroughly investigated, appropriately addressed and a number of serious measures were taken in response to the problems that surfaced, including discipline or termination of staff.

“Since then, we have introduced new ways to ensure that we do well in our commitment to inclusions, such as asking all female employees to provide feedback on the portrayal and behavior of characters in the games we play. to make. We are dedicated to listening and improving, and have committed specialists to further improve the equity and representation at Rocksteady. ”

Rocksteady concludes its statement by saying that the studio ‘has used the services of an independent third party to work with the company’s employees if the staff wants to participate. It added that it invites any former female employee who may have left the past two years to speak with this third-party organization to provide more information.
