RNC to announce new Donald Trump Jr. book

The RNC, which plans to buy “Liberal Privilege” on an ongoing basis to keep up with donor demand, is receiving copies at a price below the retail price, reducing any profit margin Trump may receive. Party officials also point out that the president’s son publishes himself, which means he did not get an advance on the book and will be responsible for the costs associated with it.

“While my previous publishers offered me a generous book contract, I declined it and decided to publish it,” Trump said in a statement. “The RNC was able to raise nearly a million dollars from its fundraising campaign with my first book, ‘Activated.’ I look forward to helping you raise funds once again for the benefit of the Republican Party. “

“Liberal Privilege” is slated to be released in late August to coincide with the Republican National Convention. But the committee is offered the book before it hits the stores, to attract taxpayers. The fundraising campaign will start on Tuesday.

It is not the first time that a party committee has used a book to raise funds. In 2017, the Republican National Senate Committee raised money from a book written by former Speaker of the House of Representatives Newt Gingrich. The Republican National Committee of Congress, meanwhile, made a fundraising effort focused on a book by Rep. Dan Crenshaw of Texas.

Trump’s pre-election book is expected to go after Joe Biden and his family, resurrecting accusations that Hunter Biden financially capitalized on his father’s vice presidency.

“Don Jr.’s first book was an inexhaustible source of fundraising for the party, and we have no doubt this book will be the same,” said Mandi Merritt, a RNC spokeswoman. “Her books are very popular with donors across the country, and the money raised will help us deliver victories in November.”
