BILLINGS, MT – RiverStone Health will begin offering free COVID-19 tests during the weekday mornings in the Shrine Auditorium parking lot, 1125 Broadwater Avenue. The test site is scheduled to open the morning of Tuesday, July 14, and then open Monday through Friday.

Every day, the first hour of testing, from 9 am to 10 am, is reserved for people who have a RiverStone Health trial prescription. These individuals have been identified through public health as being exposed to a person who tested positive for COVID-19 while that person was infectious.

Starting at 10 am each day, COVID-19 tests will be offered to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis. The test site will close at 12:30 pm on the day. The number of tests carried out daily will be limited by the capacity of the personnel.

To access the RiverStone Health testing site, enter from 11th Street West on the east side of the Shrine property. Traffic will be directed to the trailer parked near the back of the auditorium. After testing, the vehicles will exit onto Yellowstone Avenue on the north side of the Shrine property.

People undergoing testing will remain in their vehicles.

The test itself will be the same as that offered at previous events at MetraPark. A RiverStone Health staff member will instruct the individual how to gently rub into each nostril and place the swab in a vial for transport to a laboratory for analysis.

RiverStone Health will notify all examinees of their confidential results as soon as they are available. Symptomatic individuals at the time of the test will be asked to remain in quarantine for 14 days or until the test results are known.

As with everyone who tested positive for COVID-19, RiverStone Health will call and provide instructions for self-isolation to prevent the spread of the virus. Additionally, RiverStone Health will begin searching for contacts and interviewing people about their close contacts.
