Congressman Ruiz says the county has not done enough to prevent cases; criticizes the execution of orders by the Sheriff.

Congressman Ruiz joined Peter Daut during our 6:30 pm newscast on CBS and Fox, once again saying the county is not doing enough to prevent cases and called Sheriff Chad Bianco for his comments on the enforcement of public health orders.

“When you have a sheriff who thinks wearing masks or staying home is a liberal socialist agenda, he creates conflicting messages, and if he publicly declares how he is not going to enforce it, he puts on people’s minds that he is not important enough like to wear a mask. Or that this is a political problem. It is not. It is a public health problem, “Ruiz said.

Bianco responded to the congressman’s comments later that day, writing in part:

Apparently, does the congressman want him to jail mask violators, while supporting the release of violent criminals released from our jail? That is the mixed message.

Unfortunately, the county has failed to contain this increase. Hospitals are beginning to do an emergency intervention, the county also needs to do an emergency intervention, “Ruiz told News Channel 3’s Karen Devine.
